I had dinner with a very good friend tonight. We laughed so much that my jaw started aching.
It wasn’t her wine or my margarita — I’m not sure if she finished hers and mine lasted four hours– it was genuine bonding of two souls. It was about “letting go”. It was about sharing intimate stuff. It was about honesty and opening up. It was about throwing all the “luggage” that each of us was carrying on our shoulders right at the center of the dinner table, opening each one up, talking and “laughing” about it. I think it was the seeing each other as we truly are (not the looks and labels) and being in the moment without judgement that made everything so light and fun.
It’s raining outside. That’s nowadays not very typical for Los Angeles. But when the sky unabashedly opens up and pours out everything in its belly, it cleanses the arteries of this city. The city gets born again. The city breathes again.
I feel so close to the rain tonight!
